Hot Buttered Rum

A spicy festive treat for a cold winter’s evening


  • 100ml Greystonegill Golden Rum
  • ½ tbsp soft light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, to serve


  • Stir together the rum, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until dissolved then gradually add the melted butter until well combined. Pour into two small heatproof glasses and top each with 100ml boiling water and stir well. Serve with a cinnamon stick to garnish
